Here’s what you do:

  1. Connect your EyeToy and your headset to your PS3

3 Fun Ideas for Nights in With Your Nintendo Wii

nintendowiipartyLet me just start by saying, we LOVE the Nintendo Wii!!! Fancy something different instead of an expensive night out? Or even for a family party? Well, we have the perfect solution…. grab yourself a Nintendo Wii! Below are some ideas that seem to be popular amongst proud Nintendo Wii owners:

1) Family / Friends Nights In:

There are LOADS of Nintendo Wii games out there for group entertainment. All Nintendo Wii’s come with Wii Sports, and that alone has hours of multiplayer fun. Let’s take Wii Bowling for example, with just one controller you can all take turns to show off your pin destorying skills! Left handed? Not a problem, the Wii’s controlling system caters for us lefties as well :) So invite your friends / family over and do it, we bet you have a great time!

2) Get Fit

I’m sure you’ve all heard of Nintendo’s Wii Fit by now. Not only will it actually improve your fitness, it’s actually quite fun too! No more boring trips to the gym, instead enjoy the benefits of Wii Fit without having to leave your home! Wii Fit isn’t just about exercises either ohhh no, there are many games included within so that you can have fun whilst you shed off those unwanted inches! Wii Fit Plus is out now too, which in our opinion is a better option…. but both are extrememly benefical to both your health and well being :)

3) Be a Jedi

Okay okay, this is probably really geeky of me…. but with some of the starwars games out there that are available you can actually emulate wielding a light sabre with your Wii controller. Sound nerdy? Try it, I bet you get addicted like we did!!

Xbox Live Gold – Free Trials

redeemcodeYep that’s correct. Free Xbox Live Gold. How??? Well a lot of people are not aware that some new games will come with free gold membership passes to Xbox Live. This gives people a chance to try before you buy! The passes vary from 24 to 48 hours. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 comes with a 48 hour pass (mine did anyway!). To use your Xbox Live passes, scratch off the silver strip to reveal your code, and enter it in the ‘redeem code’ part of your Xbox 360 dashboard.

If you already have access to Xbox Live, then why not save your free passes for your friends. Use them to tempt your friends into Xbox Live, because let’s face it, the more friends you have on Xbox Live the better.

So there you have it, more money savings tips from us. Happy gaming!

Want Your Console Quickly?

royalmailHere in the UK there is currently a postal strike, which in some cases is delaying customer orders. If you are looking to ensure you don’t get delays, we recommend that you pay for the extra delivery service that most retailers will have as an option. Such services are delivered to you by courier, avoiding the Royal Mail. Even with the extra delivery costs, prices online beat that of the retail high street shops by far – so buying online with upgraded delivery is still the cheapest option.

Amazon seem to be doing a great job of combating the situation, they are hiring more staff to ensure minimal impact, and I can personally recommend their Express Delivery service. Here’s what they have to say about the situation:

“Many customers will be aware that the Communications Workers Union has announced strikes for Royal Mail personnel during the period October 22nd to October 23rd 2009.

Amazon.co.uk is working hard to minimise the impact on customers during this period, adding staff at our fulfilment centres to process customer orders quickly and working with a number of carriers to secure alternative delivery arrangements.

Express Delivery orders are unaffected, with guaranteed next-business-day delivery by 1pm for orders placed before the daily Express deadline. Amazon.co.uk have arranged to double available capacity to accommodate customers who choose this option. Amazon Prime orders and First Class orders are also unaffected.

Some Super Saver Delivery orders could take 1-2 days longer than usual to be delivered.

No delay is expected to International Priority Express orders. Most International Air Mail orders will be delivered within a normal timeframe, although a small number may experience short delays.

Please note that while we have updated the Estimated Delivery Dates provided after you place your order with Amazon.co.uk, to reflect our current best estimate of the impact of the Royal Mail strike on delivery times, some deliveries may be delivered after the Estimated Delivery Date given.”

Big thumbs up to Amazon for keeping us informed, and for their efforts in defending their customers during this postal strike. Let’s hope other retailers are doing the same.

Nintendo Wii Buyers Guide for Xmas 2009

Wow! Here at Budgetconsoles.co.uk we just can’t get enough of the Nintendo Wii. Just when we thought that Nintendo had been blow out of the console market, they come up with this genius invention! Let’s face it, getting hold of one hasn’t been easy for Christmas since it’s launch. We are guessing this year isn’t going to be any different at all. Just for you, we have put together a guide for those people who are considering getting their hands on a Wii this Christmas.

So, What Do I Need to Know?

Whether you are a family, or an individual the Nintendo Wii console is great fun. If you have a family or a group of friends who are willing, a night in with the Nintendo Wii is sure to give you hours of fun! The Wii really comes to live when playing in a group that’s for sure. That’s not to take anything away from playing it as an individual though, there are plenty of playing options for single players. Typically, the Wii comes with a copy of Wii Sports as standard, which is a lovely collection of games such as bowling, tennis, and boxing. It will come with one Wii remote (this is your controller), and a nunchuck. What are nunchucks I hear you say? Yes they are the ninja’s weapon, but they are also the term used for part of the Nintendo Wii control system. Gone are the days where you just use one controller, this has up to two per player (one in each hand). That is, the remote in one and and the nunchuck in the other. Confused? I can see why, but you’ll get it in no time!

Where to buy?

There are plenty of places out there selling you the Nintendo Wii, and it’s very easy to overspend on one. Make sure you get the best price out there by checking our price comparison section for Nintendo Wii’s, we update it twice daily!

Top Tip!!!

Number one tip here is BUY IT EARLY! The Nintendo Wii has flown out of stock for the last 3 Christmas’s, and it’s tipped to happen once again this year. Avoid dissapointment, and secure yours today if possible.
Remember not to get ripped off, use our price guide to find the best price out there.

Money Saving Tips When Buying an Xbox 360 This Christmas…

I’m guessing that a lot of you either want an Xbox 360 for Christmas, or your kids do! Let’s face it, everybody wants one, and we don’t blame you! Let me guess, you’ve probably just walked into the shops this Christmas, looked at the prices and took that for face value. Guys, it’s all about online shopping. What do I mean by this? Well you usually find that most stores either have cheaper prices online, or they have a seperate online website that usually have lower prices. For example, GAME have a Gameplay.co.uk as their shop to compete with web competitors. This means that usually, this is cheaper than their mother site of GAME. This is not always the case though. At Christmas, the prices are volatile and there are offers flying up all over the place. This is why we are here. We are BudgetConsoles.co.uk, and we are here to search and find you the BEST prices out there for all of your console needs. But back to this article, let’s talk about some money saving tips when buying an Xbox 360 this Christmas. In any gaming stores, you’ll see different types of Xbox 360, namely: Xbox 360 Arcade, Xbox 360 Premium, Xbox Elite, and even some speacial editions like the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 customised Xbox 360. Basically, don’t get scared. Read on, and you’ll be just fine!

If you trying to decide which Xbox 360 to buy, or you are not sure of the difference between the 3 models, then this is for you:

Let’s start by saying that the Xbox 360 Arcade is the cheapest option. This doesn’t mean the console itself is slower or insuperior, it just comes without a hard drive (which is handy to have I must say!). It comes with one control pad, and all the necessary cables, but again, does not come with a hard drive. This doesn’t mean that you can’t play all of your games, you just won’t be able to take advantage of the online side of things for e.g. downloading large content for your games, or downloading games from the Xbox Live Marketplace. If playing online isn’t your thing anyway, the Xbox 360 Arcade may be a good option for you. However, you still won’t be able to download patches for games (patches enhance gameplay and fix issues). Remember that you can always purchase an Xbox Hard Drive afterwards, it slots into all Xbox types pretty easily.

The Xbox 360 Premium, sometimes called the Xbox Pro, is the same as the Xbox 360 Arcade, but comes with the hard drive. The hard drive itself comes with 20 gb of space (this is more than decent the casual gamer).

The Xbox 360 Elite comes with a whopping 120gb hard drive. Absolute lovelyness :) If you buy this for your children, they will love you for it. Not only does it come in black (black is always cooler, right?), it comes with a massive hard drive. Lovin it like McDonalds! :)

Whatever decision you make, make sure you don’t get ripped off. Check out the price listings here on Budget Consoles. They are updated twice daily, and are absolutely the best prices out there. Enjoy!
